1-SEAM SINKER

COMING SOON
SUMMER 2025

Some pitchers throw a one-seam sinker because it is less stressful on their arms than a conventional sinker.

It is thrown with a fastball-like palm-forward wrist snap and a one-seam orientation.

A well-thrown one-seam sinker appears like a white sphere with a red vertical stripe when viewed from behind home plate.

Since no seams impact the air crosswise, and only one seam is aligned vertically in the direction of the pitch, the ball slices smoothly through the air. With almost no lift, gravity causes the ball to drop deceptively!
